Aside from being a gifted actor, Thomas is also a very talented musician and has already released his first album entitled ‘Psyanotic’. You can download the album from iTunes or CD Baby and I can personally recommend it if you’re someone with ecclectic taste who is always looking for something different.

Thomas was around fifteen years old when he wrote ‘Psyanotic’ and has explained that it was born out of a great amount of frustration after a record deal fell through because of creative differences. ‘Cyanotic’ is a medical term that he felt was particularly fitting for a title, since it stands in this context for a lack of feeling, as well as creative and novel material in the music industry. Combined with Psy, as in psychology, it makes an interesting, catchy title with a deep meaning about the state of the music industry and beyond.

The album is comprised of 12 fantastic songs including the stand out tracks ‘Lava Life’, ‘Dare’ and the title track ‘Psyanotic’. Each song delves into different genres and makes ‘Psyanotic’ a wonderful record, comparable to science fiction at times with a constantly changing feel and sound.

The song ‘The Future’ was written specifically for ‘The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ and showed Thomas’s incredible take on his character, John and the struggle that he faced in adapting himself to save the world. Although currently unavailable, it has been posted on Thomas’s official Music Myspace for some time – and was a stunning tribute to the tv series.

Currently, Thomas is working on a second album [2010] and has said that it feels like “more of a cohesive whole” with a “harder rock sound” – though it still includes the electronics that made ‘Psyanotic’ so unique and enjoyable. With strong, poetic lyrics and trippy, genre-spanning sounds, Thomas will inevitably enjoy a successful career as a musician and singer as well as an actor – and his second album should be a treat indeed.
